What to keep on file

Diligence you can produce later.

  • The record as of the date. Authority, insurance, safety, and ownership as they stood when you booked. A search result you looked at once is not a record; a signed, timestamped report is.
  • The relationships. Other carriers at the same address, phone, or officer. Chameleon carriers are found by connections, not by name.
  • Only the record. We supply what the sources showed on the date, with its source. What you decided, and why, is yours, and we never characterize it.
  • The driver side. Drivers are the boots on the ground who tell us the truth about what the filings hide. Their reports, through the T.A.T.T.O.O. Foundation, surface names and locations that appear in no filing.
  • Proof, not opinion. Nothing here scores a carrier or calls it honest. Every finding carries its source and its date.
  • Counsel decides. The standard is reasonable care under state law, and whether your file meets it is your lawyer's question. What a signed record removes is the argument that you did not look, or that you backdated it.
